Introduction

Welcome! I’m Ashley Peoples, a Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Peoples Counseling located in the beautiful state of Washington. As a therapist, I strive to create a space that feels safe, reflective, and collaborative—somewhere you can slow down, explore your experiences, and begin to make sense of the patterns shaping your life and relationships. My approach draws from psychoanalytic and relational frameworks, meaning we’ll look beneath the surface to understand how early experiences, attachment, and unconscious dynamics influence how you think, feel, and connect with others today. Maybe you and your partner find yourselves struggling with what I like to call “the two C’s”—communication and conflict. You try to talk things through, but somehow end up in the same frustrating place. With my approach, I help individuals and couples uncover the deeper, often unconscious patterns that shape how we love, argue, and connect. Together, we’ll unpack these patterns, deepen your insight, and find new ways of relating that feel more aligned and authentic. In addition to my work with adults and couples, I also have a deep appreciation for working with teens. Adolescence is such a formative and often complex stage of life, where identity, independence, and connection all come to the forefront. I enjoy helping teens make sense of their emotions, relationships, and inner worlds, while supporting parents in understanding the developmental and emotional needs beneath the surface. My goal isn’t just to help you manage challenges, but to understand yourself more fully—to uncover the “why” behind your feelings and behaviors. Through this process, many clients find not only relief, but a more grounded sense of who they are and how they connect with others. If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit to work together.
