We can’t get through life alone, and you deserve the support you need to reach your goals. Confronting the past or our fears about the future may seem overwhelming; however, it can be comforting to know that you do not have to go through this by yourself. We will work together to overcome challenges, manage emotions, confront past traumas, and create a vision for the future. Through therapy we are able to connect with ourselves and develop an understanding of our own impulses and desires. Together, we will explore the relationships between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and determine where you have the most control over your choices. With a better understanding of ourselves, we have the chance to strengthen our relationships and connections with others. I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Arkansas, and I've worked in inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings with a variety of ages from 10-65+. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These therapeutic techniques help people get unstuck and incorporate coping skills to manage difficult situations. I often work with people experiencing anxiety, trauma/PTSD, depression, self-esteem, relationships issues, and concerns related to identity, oppression, and systemic issues. We will consider your environment, support systems, and resources to help you identify other factors which could be influencing your ability to live your life to the fullest. In sessions we will reflect on how oppression and discrimination impact your mental health and wellbeing. I value the relationship between therapist and client, and I strive to always be down-to-earth, client-focused, and compassionate. My clients can expect that I will listen from a nonjudgmental, strengths-based perspective. Outside of sessions, I enjoy traveling and learning about cultures and history. I love running, hiking, kayaking, and staying active outdoors. I have a personal goal of visiting every National Park! When I can’t be outside and when the chores are done, you can find me reading or watching a good tv show!
