Introduction

Meet Susan Scalone, LCPC, ACS Maryland Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor Develop Into the Clinician You ASPIRE to Be I’m Susan Scalone, a Maryland Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor providing virtual individual and group clinical supervision to LGPCs throughout Maryland. I have been providing clinical supervision since 2017 and have had the privilege of supervising more than 60 developing clinicians. My goal is to provide supervision that goes beyond simply accumulating the hours required for independent licensure. I want the clinicians I supervise to develop confidence, strengthen their clinical judgment, deepen their case conceptualization skills, and grow into thoughtful, ethical, independent practitioners. Through ASPIRE Clinical Supervision, I offer both individual and group supervision in a supportive environment where LGPCs can discuss challenging cases, strengthen clinical skills, receive constructive feedback, explore ethical and professional issues, and develop their own identity as a therapist. Individual supervision is available virtually to LGPCs throughout the state of Maryland. What I Offer Individual Clinical Supervision for Maryland LGPCs – $90 per 60-minute session Individual supervision provides dedicated one-to-one time to develop your clinical skills, work through challenging cases, strengthen case conceptualization and treatment planning, address ethical and professional questions, and build confidence as you progress toward independent licensure. Group Clinical Supervision for Maryland LGPCs – $75 per 90-minute session Group supervision offers the opportunity to learn alongside other developing clinicians, gain multiple perspectives on clinical cases, strengthen professional skills, and benefit from shared discussion and feedback. Free 15-Minute Supervision Consultation Choosing the right clinical supervisor matters. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can discuss your supervision needs, professional goals, and whether working together would be a good fit. All supervision is provided virtually and is available to LGPCs throughout Maryland. My Approach I believe exceptional clinicians develop through more than simply completing required supervision hours. Effective clinical supervision should provide a balance of support, challenge, education, thoughtful feedback, and opportunities for self-reflection. My supervision approach is collaborative and developmental. I meet supervisees where they are in their professional growth while helping them strengthen clinical judgment, case conceptualization, treatment planning, documentation, ethical decision-making, and confidence in their work with clients. My clinical background includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, Brainspotting, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems-informed work, and integrative approaches to mental health. I draw from this experience to help supervisees think more deeply about their cases while developing a therapeutic style that is authentically their own. Supervision is also a place to talk openly about the realities of being a clinician—from difficult cases and professional boundaries to uncertainty, mistakes, ethical dilemmas, and career development. My goal is to create an environment where LGPCs feel comfortable asking questions, receiving constructive feedback, and developing the confidence and competence needed for independent practice.
