Ava earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and enjoys incorporating person-centered, and strength-based approaches. Ava is also trained in the Gottman Method and enjoys supporting couples. Ava has several years of experience in the mental health field, supporting individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. Her clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem concerns, relationship and communication difficulties, and spirituality. Ava also has experience working with clients navigating mood and personality disorders. She enjoys supporting children and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is also passionate about supporting First Responders and Veterans. Ava incorporates play-based interventions when working with children and enjoys collaborating with parents to support emotional, developmental, and behavioral growth. Ava is also trained in the ethical incorporation of Christian integration and can offer a faith-informed approach for clients who wish to include spiritual perspectives in their therapeutic work.
