I got my start in the mental health field in queer and trans support spaces, during which I recognized a gap in care as well as a tremendous need for advocacy. This continues to drive my work today. I am passionate about helping clients feel seen and heard while championing growth and autonomy by standing in my clients’ corners. I have worked with LGBTQ+ folks throughout my career, carving spaces for people to feel seen in their authentic selves where they often were not. My career began with an internship in a middle school, where I founded a group for transgender and gender-nonconforming students. I expanded and began working with adults during this time as well, helping those in their mid-twenties up to age sixty with various issues in private practice and have found helping teens and adults in this setting to be an experience I am honored to share with my clients. I specialize in anxiety disorders, gender exploration, grief, sexual orientation exploration, mood disorders, sex positivity, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. My work focuses on managing emotional intensity while helping clients learn to understand and build tolerance for the distress that arises in our daily lives, especially when experiencing mental health concerns. I am enthusiastic about bringing the outside world into the therapy space and am ready to talk about the art, music, TV shows, and other media that have impacted clients’ lives while also spending time sitting with breaking news and significant events. I aim to provide clients with an affirming space to process, be their most authentic self, and set realistic goals. I believe clients have within them what they need to achieve success in their lives, sometimes we just need help.
