I am a clinical psychologist in New York specializing in individual and couples therapy. I work with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship conflict, and the consequences of traumatic experiences. I also work with individuals seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. Much of how I think about people, relationships, and psychotherapy is rooted in relational psychodynamic theory, which emphasizes nonjudgmental curiosity about one's thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns within the context of a therapeutic relationship. I have extensive training in numerous psychotherapy models and value anything that may help ease suffering. Importantly, I believe that the most humane and person-centered treatments offer flexibility and draw upon a variety of evidence-based interventions. I know that, for some, engaging with psychotherapy can feel unfamiliar, but my goal is to make it simple and build trust together. I try to clarify the process to cultivate a mutual sense of trust, security, and transparency. I welcome people from all backgrounds, and I bring a particular passion for working with older adults and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
