Introduction

Hello! My name is Aylin Luna Vazquez, and I am an LPC Associate at District Counseling working under the supervision of Lauren Gastorf, M.Ed., LPC Supervisor. I graduated with my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life.
I believe that throughout life, many of us begin to hide parts of ourselves in order to feel safe, accepted, or understood. Over time, this can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and the person we want to be. That is why to me, therapy is more than just working through symptoms. I believe it can be a place where individuals slow down and openly explore those parts of themselves that may have been hidden over time. Because of this, it is a priority of mine to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can show up exactly as you are without fear of judgment. When it comes to my approach to counseling, I work from the belief that every individual’s journey is unique. While I primarily draw from psychodynamic, attachment-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) perspectives, I work collaboratively with clients to adapt therapy to their specific goals and needs. I also believe the therapeutic relationship can play an important role in the healing process, so I am intentional about helping clients feel comfortable and understood throughout our time together. While I am open to working with a variety of clients and experiences, I feel especially drawn to supporting adolescents and young women who have experienced complex trauma, as well as those navigating relationship/attachment challenges, intrusive thoughts, and difficulties related to identity, self-worth, and shame. I enjoy helping clients build greater self-compassion, develop a deeper understanding of their emotional experiences, and identify the barriers that may be getting in the way of living a more meaningful and fulfilling life. My hope throughout this process is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself more deeply. Because I understand that this kind of growth and self-discovery can take time, I am committed to meeting you with patience, compassion, and curiosity along the way. Above all, my goal is to help you better understand your inner world and feel empowered to live in a way that feels more authentic and aligned with who you truly are. No matter where you may find yourself in your journey, you are welcome here exactly as you are.
