Nature's Gate founder Barbara Huning is a licensed psychologist, clinical supervisor and nationally certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist specializing in helping people recover from complex trauma. With a career spanning 40 years, she brings extensive experience helping people untangle issues that affect every area of life, including problems such as treatment resistant depression and anxiety, suicide and self-harm urges, addictive behaviors, dissociation and Complex PTSD. She also uses nature-centered mindfulness to help clients reconnect to healing support and gain insight into their lives. In addition to DBT, Barbara integrates mindfulness-based approaches including nature-centered mindfulness and natural wellness education, creative visualization and Somatic Experiencing™ techniques. She has completed training in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy with Polaris Insight Center and is certified Spring Forest Qigong Practice Leader.
