Introduction

Barbara (she, her) is a clinical social worker who practices strength focused, individualized care. Her style is warm, relational and direct. She specializes in trauma and PTSD and is intensively trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). CPT is an evidenced based therapy which provides relief from symptoms of PTSD in as little as 6 to 18 sessions. She is trained to work with first responders, police, fire, EMS, veterans, and anyone experiencing symptoms of stress and trauma related problems, such as depression, anxiety, guilt and shame. Barbara is a life-long Texan who has lived in the Austin area for over 20 years. She enjoys gardening, reading and cooking. She is currently learning (however slowly) to play acoustic guitar. She loves spending time in nature while camping, bicycling and hiking and is an enthusiastic traveler.
