I specialize in providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults struggling with trauma (PTSD), mood disorders, anxiety and adjustment disorders. I also specialize in supporting individuals dealing with stress related to loss and life transitions, including divorce, family estrangement, relocation, bereavement, illness, career change, identity confusion, cultural adjustment. I believe that every individual deserves a non judgmental space where they can explore their inner worlds and process their life experiences. In practice, I draw from both in-depth (i.e. psychodynamic) and structured approaches (i.e. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) depending on each individual's needs and goals. I consider myself a relational therapist at heart, viewing healthy, authentic relationships as essential for emotional well-being. From the beginning of therapy, I am invested in building a trusting relationship that is based on validation and empathy. I enjoy helping patients learn about themselves and finding ways to improve their lives. To that end, I help them understand behavioral patterns that cause them to feel stuck and dissatisfied and guide them towards healthier ways of being. My journey into the field of psychotherapy was inspired by my love of learning about human behavior and a strong motivation to help others. I hold a PhD in Social Work and have completed postgraduate training in trauma studies. I have held various roles in the field of behavioral health in a range of settings including psychiatric, hospital, schools, and group psychotherapy practice. I consider myself a lifelong learner because I am committed to providing evidence-informed care to ensure patients have a positive therapeutic experience.
