Introduction

Everyone deserves to have a trusted support or guide along life’s journey––counseling can be a place to find just that. Counseling can be like a cool drink of water in a desert oasis, helping you rejuvenate and find rest for your soul, while you’re working towards where you want to be. With curiosity and non-judgment, I help you become an expert in you, in understanding your world: formative events, patterns in your thinking, beliefs, and interpersonal relationships... While I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, the foundation of any work we do together will come from a supportive, therapeutic connection. On Day 1, I will ask you some questions about what's bringing you into counseling and what you hope to gain from the process, but mostly I will tune into your story, getting to know a bit about your past and history. Pacing is important. Early on, I focus on establishing a solid connection with you, and developing any necessary grounding/self-soothing skills before we move into any deeper trauma-work together.
