Introduction

I’m Dr. Benjamin Finlayson, and I’m glad you’re here. My path into this work began with a deep curiosity about relationships, how we connect, how we hurt, and how we heal. Over time, that curiosity grew into a commitment to helping individuals and couples navigate some of life’s most difficult moments with clarity, compassion, and evidence-based care. I specialize in working with couples experiencing conflict, disconnection, or communication challenges, as well as individuals navigating anxiety, identity development, and life transitions. My clinical approach is grounded in models like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), allowing me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported, but also gently challenged to grow. Whether you’re looking to rebuild connection in your relationship, better understand yourself, or find a way through overwhelming emotions, therapy can be a place where meaningful change begins. My goal is to help you move toward a life that feels more connected, intentional, and hopeful.
