Introduction

Beth specializes in trauma treatment and can help individuals feel better though treatment of complex trauma including relational and developmental traumas (CPTSD), and single-event trauma (PTSD). Beth also specializes in treating various presentations of anxiety, depression, autistic burnout, chronic illness/pain, life stress, relationship issues, and more. She believes in the role of attachment-based & bottom up interventions which allow for reconnecting to yourself and reducing any level of discontentment, pain, or suffering through skilled nonjudgmental, warm, and attuned therapy. She uses integrative modalities including experiential, somatic, and relational-based models including: Coherence Therapy, EMDR, IFS (parts work and inner child work), memory reconsolidation, Structural Dissociation models, and more. You can go as deep as you wish, in a safe, paced way that meets you where you are at each session. Beth is best suited for deeply feeling clients ready to go deeper into what they feel in their bodies to gain better insight, clarity, and resolution. This can include exploring lifelong patterns (ex.: "I always feel judged", "I often feel hypervigilant even when I know I am safe", "I feel like I want to run away when I get stressed", etc.) and emotional/feeling flashbacks (to re-live a deep-seated deeply distressing experience in different, often safer, environments). This type of deeply-felt therapy can be hard at first, especially for intellectualizers, but is an evidence-based way to address patterns, beliefs, fears, and implicit schemas in an embodied way creating a pathway towards healing. Therapy can be uncomfortable when we face truths that we often protect ourselves from and that is often where the healing and change happens :) https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/beth-chapman-ann-arbor-mi/317862
