Introduction

I am a certified EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant supporting both clients and clinicians in the effective use of EMDR. I also utilize the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Therapy (RTM) protocol and mindfulness techniques. I work with adult individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, problematic relationship patterns, life transitions, as well as other mental health challenges. My unique approach incorporates trauma-sensitive therapy and contemplative mindful techniques to help clients slow down automatic responses, build emotional regulation, and relate to difficult experiences with more clarity and compassion. My extensive training and professional background enable me to address the effects of painful life events on the nervous system, relationships, mood, identity, and functionality. Utilizing psychodynamic and contemplative psychotherapy, I integrate mindfulness, self-compassion, and embodiment with contemporary neuropsychology. By offering EMDR consultation for clinicians who want to move beyond protocol memorization and develop a more nuanced, confident, trauma-informed EMDR practice, I am able to fulfill my desire to support others’ growth through my experience and training. My consultation style integrates EMDR protocols with psychodynamic understanding, mindfulness-based regulation skills, and careful attention to client readiness, attachment patterns, dissociation, and blocked processing. Her background in the international corporate sector and clinical mental health settings gives Beth special insight into career issues, and the sensitivity needed to work with people from diverse backgrounds. ****************** Post-Graduate Training Beth D. Weinstein, M.A., LMHC, is a graduate of the EMDR Clinical Affiliate Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP) Trauma Treatment Center; Certification from The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (IMP) in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy; Certification from The Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute (TICTI) in EMDR Consultation and the Flash Technique; Certification in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Mindfulness from the Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Science. She holds a Masters' Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the City University of NY's Weissman Graduate Program at Baruch College, and Advanced Certification in Trauma and Disaster Mental Health from the Institute for Disaster Mental Health (IDMH) at SUNY New Paltz. More about Beth's approach: EMDR therapy is an evidence-based treatment. Research shows EMDR is highly effective for trauma, as well as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, and addiction. EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less vivid, less emotionally charged, and less disruptive in daily life. The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy Certificate Program has a focus on the integration of mindfulness meditation, Buddhist psychology, and contemporary psychotherapy. This intensive training in clinical interventions prepares mental health professionals to apply mindfulness with different clinical populations. RTM — Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories — is a brief, structured treatment designed to reduce the impact of traumatic memories, nightmares, flashbacks, and other common PTSD symptoms. RTM uses imagery-based memory reconsolidation rather than prolonged retelling of the trauma.
