Provider: Betsy Atwell, MA, LPC, CSAC, ICS Philosophy of practice: In my practice, clients can expect to work on unravelling their past from their present and to develop a stronger ability to listen to their own internal wisdom. While blocking out your past can help you survive difficult times, it can also lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, physical ailments, substance use, and more. I am especially interested in helping clients with gender, sexuality, and neurodiversity related stressors. Pain and trauma around these parts of ourselves often develops when we attempt to conform to the expectations of society. I want to be your ally in developing self-acceptance around your identity. Areas of Focus: -Trauma related symptoms and disorders -Depression -Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) -Anxiety -Addictive Disorders Approaches: - EMDR- Attachment Based - ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) - Mindfulness Based Interventions - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Motivational Interviewing Clinical Supervision: I provide clinical supervision for new and experienced professionals. My credentials and experience allow me to sign off on required hours for training licenses for therapists, social workers, and substance use counselors.
