Introduction

Hi, I’m Bob. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW) practicing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I believe deeply in the power of human connection, healing, and growth. My approach is eclectic — I draw from a range of evidence-based models — but at the center of it all is the belief that every person carries strengths and a purpose worth honoring. In our work together, I focus on staying present, leaning into radical acceptance, and creating a space where every story is truly valued. I’ve received training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, EMDR, and Seeking Safety, and I specialize in supporting people navigating substance use and recovery, chronic trauma, and complex PTSD. Guided most by Carl Rogers’ humanistic approach, I aim to meet each person with compassion, authenticity, and respect. I am actively connected with the recovery community here in Grand Rapids, serving with the Kent County Opioid Task Force and the Grand Rapids Red Project. Harm reduction saves lives. My commitment is to offer a trauma-informed and inclusive space where all identities, genders, and orientations are welcomed and respected.
