Welcome, We're so glad you’re here! Bonfire Healing provides outpatient telehealth therapy with focus on complex mental health issues, developmental trauma, eating disorders, addictions, nuerodiveristy, and maladaptive behaviors. We are a collective of trauma healing providers with the mission to promote health equity by expanding access to evidence-based, compassionate trauma treatment through the utilization of insurance benefits so that it is accessible and effective. At Bonfire Health, we recognize that trauma and stress responses impact all aspects of our mental and physical health and often underly chronic conditions and contribute to anxiety, panic responses, mood disorders, ADHD, addictions, eating disorders, self harming behaviors, maladaptive behaviors, autoimmune issues, chronic pain, and chronic illness. We also recognize that trauma is pervasive and takes many forms including verbal and physical abuse, neglect, attachment issues, marginalization, discrimination, bullying, and any other event(s) that lead us to question our physical, social (belonging), or emotional safety. For true healing we must include trauma treatment that heals both mind and body through building strong therapeutic relationships, releasing traumatic memories, understanding and calming our nervous system responses, and finding ways to regulate inflammatory responses utilizing both trauma therapy and holistic nourishment. At Bonfire Healing, we utilize a 3 factor approach to personalized trauma healing: 1. Building and maintaining therapeutic relationship - Long term therapy with a therapist that is an appropriate fit for you is most beneficial for trauma healing. All healing happens within the safety of relationship through co-regulation and we honor a commitment to do our own work so we can show up for you in regulated ways that feel safe, compassionate, consistent, and connected with appropriate therapeutic boundaries. Assessing the need for immediate coping and life skills - We acknowledge the benefit of having a “tool box” for coping, particularly in times of crisis, high anxiety, and major depressive episodes. This can include internal resourcing, grounding, containment, communicating, and finding social support that is readily available and practiced in and out of therapy. We stay up to date on training in skill based modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Processing Trauma in a way that provides safety and healing - We believe that everyone can heal and focus on consent driven processing (we offer direction with context and you decide what, how, and when you process). We are trained and stay up to date on changes with consultation through professional organizations in trauma treatment modalities including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) approved trainings Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS institute. Somatic Experiencing rooted in Polyvagal Theory through Somatic Experiencing International and the Polyvagal Institute. We look forward to connecting with you and sharing in your journey of healing together!
