Brad Flinn is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma-informed psychotherapy, performance psychology, and the development of sustainable human performance. His clinical work is grounded in the idea that mental health is more than the reduction of symptoms: effective therapy should help people heal from what has happened, develop the capacity to thrive, perform effectively in the areas of life that matter to them, and build changes that last. Brad holds graduate degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology, with additional academic training spanning biology, psychology, exercise and sport science, English literature, and creative writing. This interdisciplinary background informs an approach to psychotherapy that considers the interaction of biology, behavior, environment, relationships, learning, and performance. Before entering clinical practice, Brad worked in biotechnology and genetics in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the fields of exercise science, personal training, and athletic training. As a clinician, he has worked across private practice, behavioral health agencies, primary-care settings, and school systems. These experiences have shaped an approach that bridges traditional psychotherapy with performance-oriented work. Brad works extensively with trauma, stress, life transitions, and performance-related concerns. His approach incorporates evidence-based and trauma-informed methods, including EMDR, while helping clients understand the patterns and conditions influencing their behavior. Treatment is individualized around the person rather than a single therapeutic model, with an emphasis on developing practical skills, psychological flexibility, resilience, and sustainable change. Brad sometimes describes his role as a personal trainer for mental health: therapy provides a place to address injury and distress, but the work does not necessarily end when symptoms improve. For many clients, the next question becomes what they want to build with the capacity they have regained. That philosophy is reflected in the work of Peak Performance and Wellness: HEAL | THRIVE | PERFORM | SUSTAIN Outside the office, Brad remains closely connected to sport, fitness, and the outdoors. He spends much of his free time with family exploring Colorado.
