As a counselor, I have spent my life helping children and families in a variety of settings. I began counseling in 2005 after completing my master's degree from Tarleton State University. My PhD is in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University. One of my greatest joys is teaching and training future counselors. I wrote my doctoral dissertation on issues related to adoption because it is one of my passions and specializations as a mom and therapist. I recognize that the families who struggle with adoption issues are underserved and I want to use my professional and personal experience to provide help and hope. My deep desire is to help others overcome their obstacles, achieve their goals, and realize their worth. I consider it a privilege to help others walk through a difficult time, reach their goals, or gain a fresh perspective on their current situation. I integrate multiple therapeutic theories and techniques in my approach to counseling, depending on the needs of the individual client. I believe healing best occurs in an open and judgment-free alliance between therapist and client. I look forward to partnering with you to achieve your goals. I am also the mom of three amazing kids. My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and have two sons and one daughter (via international adoption). The experiences of raising my kids, military life, international adoption, and relationships I have made along the way, have taught me the most about life and who I am as a person
