I specialize in working with LGBTQIA2S+ adults facing political distress. Those with marginalized identities may be feeling especially anxious given the aims of the current administration. I also work with clients who were raised in religious or high-control environments and are interested in processing the impact of these environments on their emotional well-being. Growing up in these types of environments can result in shame and self-doubt. I accompany clients on their path toward a sense of self-acceptance and belonging. I provide gender-affirming, sex-positive, culturally-humble, and trauma-informed care. All that to say, I do my best to honor my clients’ lived experiences. I work within the Liberation Health Model, which emphasizes the impact of social, economic, political, and historical contexts on a client’s presenting problems. In session, I utilize a relational approach, emphasizing the role that the therapeutic relationship plays in helping my clients build positive relationships outside of the therapy room.
