Introduction

Hello, and welcome. My name is Brenda, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and cultural understanding. As a first-generation Latina and daughter of immigrants, I understand the unique experiences that can come with balancing cultural expectations, identity, family dynamics, and life transitions. Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working within the criminal justice system, where I gained valuable experience supporting individuals through difficult circumstances and life changes. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, acculturation stress, and relationship challenges. I also have experience supporting individuals with ADHD and autism and value collaborating with families, schools, and other professionals to help ensure comprehensive care and support. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, strengths-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. In addition to providing therapy, I also conduct immigration mental health evaluations for individuals seeking humanitarian immigration relief, including VAWA petitions, U Visas, T Visas, asylum cases, hardship waivers, and cancellation of removal cases. As the daughter of immigrants, I am deeply committed to providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed evaluations that accurately reflect each individual's experiences and mental health needs. I believe that meaningful change happens when individuals feel supported while building on their existing strengths. Whether you are facing a difficult season, working through past experiences, navigating cultural challenges, or seeking personal growth, I am here to help you develop practical tools, gain insight, and move toward the life you want to create. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and resilience. Hola y bienvenida/o.
