Hello, I am Brendan. What is on display and what is hidden in our lives often fills us with pent up emotion and weightiness that can feel insurmountable without outlets for engagement and relief. Does this sound like what you are experiencing? I blend warmth, depth, and humor to guide teens and adults navigating depression and anxiety, trauma and PTSD, and grief and loss. One particular area of counseling interest for me is gender and sexuality in the context of family life and religious/spiritual life. I equip you with tools to sustain changes beyond counseling, using evidence-based methods and tailoring counseling goals to your unique story and needs. I am informed in my practice by my experiences working with trauma in children and adults, including sexual and physical abuse and neglect. I have completed dedicated training in Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gottman Therapy. I believe that each person holds inherent dignity and deserves respect, understanding, and compassion. I believe that we are intensely relational and thus use attachment based therapy to aids you to (re)discover the love and care you give and receive in life. I am a private pay counselor, meaning that I do not directly take insurance. I can provide a superbill for out-of-network coverage. Reimbursement is subject to insurer and plan. I provide sliding scale spots for clients in need of financial assistance. If something about my approach speaks to you, I encourage you to reach out. I provide a free consultation call to discuss your concerns and courses of action, and also provide referrals to other counselors when appropriate.
