Hello, I am Brianna Heppler; autistic, non-binary person. I graduated from Capella University with a BS in psychology and a minor in family development. I received my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University as well. My licenses and certifications include: South Dakota Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LGBTQ+ Affirmative CBT. Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. I have been seeing clients since January 2022. I’ve worked in community mental health, non-profits, and group practices. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+, neurodivergent individuals, and systems. I have training in sex therapy, and I enjoy working with clients who practice polyamory/ethical non-monogamy and BDSM. Building a life that works for you and your relationships in a world that isn't designed for us is no small task, but it can make all the difference in the world. Honing skills to help keep yourself regulated while dealing with daily stress is an integral part of my practice. I collaborate with clients to turn their stories into their strengths, utilizing narrative family therapy to empower my clients. Additionally, I am a trained sex therapist who focuses on increasing pleasure while decreasing conflict. Additionally, I provide continuing education for counselors on topics of LGBTQ+ Identity and working with autistic adults across the spectrum. My belief is that community is an important part of a person’s healing journey, and because of that, I co-facilitate a trans and gender non-conforming adult support group and a neurodivergent adult support group regularly to increase access to care free of cost.
