My own experiences of childhood abuse and trauma are what fuel my passion to help others find healing. As everyone has different upbringings, beliefs, cultures, and values, I do not believe there is a one size fits all approach to therapy. As a counselor, I utilize an integrative model of counseling and rely heavily on person-centered and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I respect these evidenced-based approaches, as I believe people are capable of experiencing change when they feel safe. Additionally, I believe if we choose, we can make meaning of our lives and find freedom after distressing, traumatic experiences.
