Brittany Lindsay, PLPC, MS, CTP, CMIP Understanding Before Judging I don't believe people are broken. I believe every behavior has a purpose, every emotion tells a story, and every person deserves to be understood before they are judged. Whether you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, anger, aggression, relationship conflict, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, you don't have to navigate it alone. Therapy isn't about fixing you. It's about helping you understand yourself so you can move forward with confidence, resilience, and hope. My clinical philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: healing begins with understanding, not judgment. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I believe the more meaningful questions are: What happened? What is this behavior communicating? How did we get here? Those questions shift the focus from judgment to understanding. The behaviors that often bring people to therapy, whether it's shutting down, pushing others away, self-harming, lashing out, perfectionism, or feeling emotionally out of control, are rarely the whole story. Together, we'll explore what lies beneath those patterns with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment because lasting change begins with understanding, not shame. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating life's most difficult moments. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals experiencing complex trauma, attachment concerns, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, anger, aggression, family conflict, neurodevelopmental differences, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about helping individuals and families who feel like they've "tried everything" finally experience what it feels like to be truly understood. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and individualized because no two stories are the same. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), attachment-informed interventions, mindfulness, strengths-based approaches, and family systems principles to meet each client where they are. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to be vulnerable, and empowered enough to recognize the resilience they already possess. I have a particular passion for working with complex situations that don't fit neatly into a diagnosis or a single explanation. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I believe meaningful progress begins with curiosity, collaboration, and understanding the whole person. To me, therapy extends beyond symptom reduction. It is about helping people make sense of their experiences, strengthen their relationships, regulate their emotions, and develop practical tools that create lasting change. My hope is that every client leaves therapy not only feeling better, but feeling more understood, and understanding themselves more deeply, than when they first walked through the door. Choosing to begin therapy is an investment in yourself, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Whether you're searching for hope, healing, or simply someone who will truly listen, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, challenged when appropriate, and empowered to move toward the life you want to build. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Behavioral Health Leadership and hold certifications as a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMIP). I am also completing Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Practitioner training to further strengthen my work with children, families, and individuals impacted by trauma. Because I believe understanding always comes before judgment.
