Introduction

Dr. Ward is a licensed psychologist in Oregon with a strong foundation in both clinical work and academic research. She completed her doctorate with honors at the University of Utah and received several years of rigorous training within the trauma department at Primary Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ward's postdoctoral residency was fulfilled at The Children’s Center—Utah’s leading mental health clinic for young children. Dr. Ward's training extends to a range of certifications in evidenced-based cognitive behavioral therapies as well as attachment-based interventions that draw from psychodynamic theory. She also integrates mindfulness and somatic approaches into her work. Her research has been published in both Child Abuse & Neglect and Child Maltreatment peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her deep engagement with trauma treatment. She is particularly skilled in working with complex diagnostic presentations and is passionate about supporting youth and families through trauma-informed care. Since relocating to Oregon, Dr. Ward has collaborated with community professionals across disciplines and provided clinical services at The Child and Family Psychiatric Center inclusive of individual therapy, family therapy and psychological testing. After spending several years providing services in the community, Dr. Ward paused her practice to focus on raising her children and establishing a farm with her husband. She continued to engage in emerging psychological research as well as provide supervisory services. Currently, Dr. Ward has returned to her practice with excitement to engage in the newfound benefits of virtual care. She remains committed to creating an affirming environment for all clients.
