Introduction

Hello hello, I'm Brittney! I found my roots in this field thanks to the school system, where I initially was a Professional School Counselor as I completed my Master’s of Education in Professional School Counseling, with a Play Therapy certificate to support my love for working with children. During my time, I was able to take extra courses to allow me to dual license, leading me to now work as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and opening Nurture & Bloom! I have experience in the schools in both the role of School Counselor and School-Based Therapist, as well as an Outpatient Therapist in the community mental health sector. Unsurprisingly, I LOVE using play therapy to support the cognitive and developmental stages my child clients are at. I primarily approach play therapy from a non-directive standpoint, and provide parent sessions to supplement the work your kiddos are doing in their sessions. I am also trained to provide CPRT (child-parent relationship training), diving into how important it is to honor our children’s world view and perspectives. When I am working with my teen and adult clients, I approach our work from a place of curiosity, support, and non-judgment, as we explore things like trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship/family conflict, educational/work stress, life transitions, and perfectionism, just to name a few. I am working towards my RPT (registered play therapist) title, as well as PMH-C (perinatal mental health certification). When I am not providing therapy, I am spending time with my animals (3 dogs, 3 cats, a bird, and a rope fish), my daughter, and my husband; listening to music, going on walks, and finding all of life’s best adventures.
