My career began in 2013 working with children and adult populations within the criminal justice system where I was able to observe and understand the effects of trauma on one’s mental wellness and environments. Once receiving my Master’s in social work from Tulane University, I worked within the school system providing therapy services to children/adolescents while educating families and school staff about ways to support students’ mental wellness especially during and after the pandemic. As a licensed clinical social worker, I work with individuals from ages 3-25 and families. I utilize directive and non-directive modalities to treat disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, mood disorders, and trauma. I am an EMDR(eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) trained therapist, but I also use child-centered play therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT), Person Centered therapy(PCT), and sandtray to facilitate an inclusive and safe environment for individuals and families to be expressive and to process difficult thoughts and emotions. I am dedicated to equipping individuals and families with the skills of emotional regulation and communication to improve resiliency and emotional wellness within their communities.
