Monarch Bay Wellness was created around the belief that therapy should feel thoughtful, personal, and grounded in each person’s needs. People deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for as individuals. Care at Monarch Bay is collaborative, practical, and shaped around what is happening in each person’s life. Difficult situations can be slowed down and broken into more manageable pieces, making room to recognize existing strengths, develop useful tools, and work toward changes that feel realistic. Brooke Champt, LCSW, is the founder and therapist behind Monarch Bay Wellness. She is trained in EMDR and specializes in trauma-informed therapy, working with clients navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, relationship and family concerns, and major life changes. She draws from several evidence-based approaches and adjusts the work based on each client’s needs and goals. Brooke’s approach is grounded, personal, and connected to real life. She also believes there is room for humor when it helps. Sometimes being able to laugh, even briefly, can make a difficult situation feel a little less heavy. Her background includes community mental health, foster care, youth homelessness services, and private practice. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Ferris State University and her Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice. Outside of work, Brooke lives in Traverse City and enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and learning about different places and cultures. “We do not have to solve everything at once. We can start small, focus on what matters most, and move forward together.”
