Creative Works Counseling is located on the ancestral land of the Wabanaki people. I work closely with clients to nurture and protect their minds and bodies navigating systems of oppression. I offer therapeutic creative modalities as an act of rebellion against these systems and helps the client emphasize their own autonomy and strengths while also recognizing that we cannot heal in isolation. Therapy with Creative Works Counseling is not passive. We may create images to represent internal parts, learn your nervous system responses, use EMDR to reprocess trauma, develop DBT skills for emotional stabilization, and explore identity without pathologizing it. Clients don’t have to perform stability, defend your identity, or protect a system that harmed you. I work especially well with creatives, activists & helpers, LGBTQ+ adults, survivors of spiritual abuse, and individuals navigating identity reconstruction. I am a registered provisional Expressive Arts Therapist in specializing in trauma, religious deconstruction, addiction recovery, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. Expressive Arts Therapies is more than arts & crafts and just being creative. Art therapy is a clinical, evidence-based way to access the nervous system, unconscious material, and parts of you that don’t speak in paragraphs.
