Caroline (Carrie) Hubbard Pineau, M.A., LCSW-C, has over 15 years of experience in trauma, grief, crisis management, teaching, coaching, training, and nonprofit leadership and management. In her undergrad years, Carrie volunteered in an economically depressed area with disadvantaged youth and formed many lasting friendships, some of which were with Law Enforcement Officers. Following her college years, Carrie returned to Maryland and started as a Teacher's Assistant in a classroom of teenagers with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Working on behalf of people with ASD was Carrie's first professional love. And, without a doubt, her students and clients have been some of her greatest teachers. Collectively, Carrie spent 20 years working in this field. During this time, she earned her M.A. in Thanatology from Hood College and then her MSW from University of Maryland, Baltimore. At the height of the pandemic, Carrie began working as a part-time Mental Health Clinician for the Mobile Crisis Unit (a police/clinician co-responder team) serving Baltimore County. It was here, that she reconnected with the world of Emergency Services and was reminded of the (often overlooked) courage and humanity of first responders. Guided by these years and experiences, Carrie has founded her second professional love: Huckleberry Wellness with the goal to provide exceptional, culturally competent and relevant, individualized care for first responders and their loved ones. The work of Huckleberry Wellness aims to reflect respect for those who serve and a commitment to building healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities.
