Introduction

Carrie Hubbard Pineau, M.A., LCSW-C (MD), LICSW (DC) is a mission-driven Clinical Social Worker and seasoned non-profit leader with over 20 years of experience dedicated to guiding individuals and systems through change, trauma, and eventual growth. She possesses a unique blend of executive management skills and specialized clinical expertise in grief and loss, post-traumatic stress, and post traumatic growth. Carrie is deeply passionate about serving underserved communities. She is highly skilled at building trust and clinical rapport in high-stakes environments, particularly within the law enforcement and first responder communities. Her current work includes serving as an embedded behavioral health clinician for the Baltimore County Police Department, providing direct support to sworn and professional staff, and managing her own trauma-informed practice, Huckleberry Wellness, LLC. Her clinical background is robust and specialized, including two master's degrees—a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work, and a Master of Arts in Thanatology (the study of death, dying, and bereavement) from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She has extensive experience in crisis response, working as a clinician for the Baltimore County Crisis Response System and Johns Hopkins University, where she routinely partners with police and public safety teams to conduct on-scene assessments and critical incident management and support. Beyond direct clinical care, Carrie is an accomplished organizational leader and educator. For over a decade, she served as the Deputy Director at Itineris, Inc., where she was instrumental in strategic planning, organizational management, quality assurance, and leading change for a high-quality service provider. Carrie holds multiple certifications in CISM, ASAP, Power In Peers, Trauma-Informed Care, and Mental Health First Aid. She is a regular presenter for organizations including the Baltimore County Police Academy, and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Schools. She has spoken at various professional conferences. Her dedication to excellence has been recognized with honors such as two Top 40 Women Under 40 in Maryland awards. Carrie's dream is to have Huckleberry Wellness cultivate hope for individuals and families and build resilient communities so that we all may live strong, fulfilling, and healthy lives.
