Introduction

Helping Adults & Children Heal, Grow, and Feel Empowered Counseling & EMDR Therapy for Adults and Children In-Person in Fate/Rockwall, TX | Online Therapy Across Texas Hi, I’m Carrie — a Licensed Professional Counselor, former educator, and mom who’s passionate about helping people heal, grow, and feel empowered. I provide Counseling and EMDR Therapy for children ages 5–11 and adults 18+, offering in-person sessions in my Fate/Rockwall office (with evening and weekend availability) and secure online therapy across Texas. A LITTLE ABOUT ME Healing doesn’t always follow a straight path—and that’s okay. For more than 15 years, I’ve supported children, adults, and families through life’s toughest challenges, helping them find healing, clarity, and strength. I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and have been providing therapy since 2018. Over the years, I’ve worked in schools, community-based mental health programs, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice, serving individuals and families from all walks of life. My background includes work in outpatient mental health settings where I treated complex and co-occurring mental health concerns, supporting clients through trauma, mood disorders, and overlapping emotional and behavioral challenges. These experiences have strengthened my belief that healing is possible with the right tools, trust, and support. MY EXPERIENCE: - Supporting children and families in school and community mental health programs - Treating complex and comorbid mental health conditions in outpatient settings - Working with adults through trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions - Helping new moms and caregivers manage identity shifts, postpartum changes, and emotional stress - Providing culturally responsive care to clients from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences - Using trauma-informed practices, including Expressive Arts Therapy and EMDR, to support deep healing and growth WHO I WORK WITH I work with adults (18+), children ages 5–11, and parents/caregivers navigating stress, change, or family challenges. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck or overwhelmed—but ready for something to shift. Together, we create a space where healing feels safe and growth feels possible. ISSUES I WORK WITH For Adults (18+): - Trauma and abuse recovery (childhood, physical, sexual, emotional, or domestic) - PTSD and complex trauma - Depression, anxiety, and mood regulation challenges - Bipolar disorder and co-occurring conditions - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) - Grief, loss, and life transitions (parenthood, divorce, career change, aging) - Relationship and marriage issues (communication, conflict, trust) - Self-esteem, perfectionism, and self-sabotaging behaviors - ADHD & Mood Dysregulation - Work-related stress, burnout, and work-life balance - Substance use, addiction, and impulse control - Coping with chronic illness or medical trauma - Women’s health, perinatal, and hormonal changes For Children (ages 5–11): - Trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), including abuse recovery - Adjustment challenges (new schools, parental separation, moves) - ADHD, impulse control, and emotional regulation difficulties - Anger management and frustration tolerance - Behavioral concerns and mood instability - Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) - Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) - Grief, loss, and family transitions (divorce, adoption, blended families) - School-related struggles, bullying, and social skill challenges - Low self-esteem, shyness, and boundary setting - Sleep difficulties and somatic stress symptoms (headaches, stomachaches) - Building confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills MY THERAPUETIC APPROACH I believe therapy should feel safe, grounding, and hopeful. My role isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to walk beside you, help you make sense of your experiences, and equip you with tools that bring real relief and change. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, blending several evidence-based modalities to meet each client’s needs: - EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – for trauma healing and emotional regulation - Trauma-Informed Therapy – understanding the mind-body connection in healing - CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) – to shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors - DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) – for emotional regulation and mindfulness - CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) – for trauma and PTSD recovery - Expressive Arts Therapy – for creative expression and emotional processing - Person-Centered Therapy – grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration Sessions are flexible, goal-focused, and paced to your comfort level, ensuring that therapy feels empowering and effective. WHAT TO EXPECT Your first session is about connection—not perfection. We’ll talk about what’s been happening, explore your goals, and begin mapping a plan that feels manageable and meaningful. I’ll provide guidance, structure, and support while honoring your pace and process. You don’t have to have it all figured out—that’s what therapy is for. RATES & INSURANCE I believe mental health care should be accessible and transparent. I offer a sliding scale starting at $100 for private-pay and uninsured clients. I also accept the following insurance plans: **BCBS, United Healthcare (UHC), UMR, Optum, Oscar, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, Wellcare, Ascension, Carelon, and select Medicare Advantage plans. If you’re not sure about your coverage, I’m happy to help verify your benefits before we get started. WHY WORK WITH ME Because I show up as a real person, not just a clinician. My clients often share that they feel deeply seen, heard, and supported in our sessions. I blend professional expertise with lived understanding to provide care that’s compassionate, practical, and empowering. If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing—for yourself or your child—I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. I’d be honored to walk beside you as you move toward greater peace, confidence, and well-being. “Healing and growth are not linear—but with support, guidance, and the right tools, you can face life’s challenges with courage and confidence.”
