Hello there, I’m Carrie! I am currently welcoming new clients for virtual and in-person therapy in Richmond. I’m a pre-licensed therapist serving Vermont under the supervision of Caroline O’Connor, LCMHC, PATP. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. I primarily work with high functioning adults navigating anxiety, disconnection, overwhelm, life transitions, relationship challenges, and burnout. You may be capable, responsible, and someone others count on, while underneath you're exhausted, anxious, or wondering why you can handle so much and still not feel like yourself. Having spent more than a decade working at a Fortune 10 company, I understand the pressures of high demand workplaces firsthand. I know how being capable can mean being handed more and more to carry, until holding it all together starts taking a toll. These feelings are not signs that something is wrong. They can be invitations to listen more deeply. Together, we'll create space to release what's been heavy and reconnect with more clarity, calm, ease, and joy in your everyday life. My integrative approach blends talk therapy with somatic practices such as breathwork, visualization, and mindfulness to help you feel more grounded, process emotions, and release limiting beliefs. I combine top-down approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with bottom-up, body based techniques that engage both the mind and nervous system. Insight matters, but understanding why you think, feel, or respond a certain way doesn't always change the response. In our work, we'll talk things through while also noticing what's happening in your body and practicing tools you can use outside the therapy room. I work especially well with curious, self-reflective people who want to actively engage in therapy. You may already journal, meditate, or have done therapy before. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you need. An openness to exploring patterns, trying new tools, and putting what we discover into practice can make us a great fit. You can be grateful for what you have and still deeply know something needs to change. Maybe you want to close your laptop at the end of the day and actually feel done. Have more patience left for the people you love. Feel less consumed by what's next and experience more ease and joy in the life you have worked so hard to build. Let's help you stop simply managing your life and start actually experiencing it. To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, scroll down and click "Request Appointment." I would be honored to connect with you.
