My name is Cassie Dwyer, and I am a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Oklahoma. I am currently completing my internship at Infinite Growth Performance Psychology, where I provide counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults under supervision. I believe counseling should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about the things going on in your life. I know that opening up to someone new can be difficult, so building a trusting relationship with my clients is an important part of how I approach counseling. I work with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and family challenges, life changes, and difficult past experiences. My approach is primarily person-centered, meaning that I want our work together to be based on your individual needs and what you hope to get out of counseling. I also incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and other approaches depending on what may be most helpful for you. You don't have to know exactly what you want to work on or what you want to say before coming to counseling. We can start with what is going on in your life right now and work together to figure out where you would like to go from there!
