Introduction

I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife, with graduate education from Duke University and East Carolina University. I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care and have a special interest in supporting women across the lifespan, as well as veterans, military spouses, and children navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life's many transitions. My connection to the military community is both professional and deeply personal. In addition to my clinical training, I have spent more than 20 years as part of a military family. This experience has given me firsthand insight into the unique sacrifices, resilience, and often unseen challenges faced by service members and their loved ones. It has strengthened my commitment to providing care that is empathetic, respectful, and grounded in an understanding of military life. For the past 12 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife, I have had the privilege of caring for women throughout every stage of life, supporting not only their physical health but also their emotional and mental well-being. It has been an honor to walk alongside women during some of their most meaningful and vulnerable moments, and I am grateful to continue that work by helping individuals achieve greater mental wellness and resilience. My approach to care is centered on creating a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to partner with you—helping you gain insight into your experiences while empowering you to become your own strongest advocate. I provide personalized, evidence-based care that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms. Together, we'll explore the factors influencing your mental health and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique goals, values, and lifestyle. Through shared decision-making, I strive to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your care. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you build resilience, strengthen healthy coping skills, and improve your overall well-being. Together, we'll work toward meaningful, lasting change so you can live a healthier, more balanced, and fulfilling life. During our first session, we'll take time for you to tell your life story, what you've been experiencing, and what brought you to seek support. I'll also complete a psychiatric evaluation to better understand your current needs and symptoms. Before we end our visit, we'll talk about the best path forward. Whether that includes medication, therapy, lifestyle strategies or a combination of all, we'll create a treatment plan that feels right for you and supports your goals.
