I am Catherine (she/her) and I am a mixed Indigenous mental health therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Trauma Counseling Certificate from Antioch University in Seattle. I am based out of Seattle, Washington. I believe in your innate wholeness and the parts of you that struggle to make complete sense, given what you’ve been through and how you’ve learned to survive. Our work is collaborative, guided by curiosity about your story and values. We will explore your inner world, focusing on the parts that protect you and the parts that hurt, and build skills to empower you to overcome and sit with the in-between not so easy times. The goal is not to fix you, but to help you understand yourself more fully and align with your authentic self. I am trauma and attachment informed, drawing from modalities of IFS, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, CBT, and somatic wisdom while attuned to each person’s different needs. I believe our bodies carry our own hurt and the pain of generations before us. Healing asks us to listen with curiosity. Systems such as colonialism, racism, capitalism, and oppression shape our inner lives and outer realities and I believe we must honor the full complexity of who you are: your cultural and ancestral roots, the nuances of your racial and ethnic identity, and the weight of intergenerational and historical trauma. We will work to untangle what survival has cost you while reclaiming the resilience, joy, rest, and abundance that are also yours.
