Introduction

Catherine received a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University in 2008. She is currently enrolled at Liberty University pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Catherine has had a heart for mentorship and counseling from her time in college. While working as a teacher in various capacities as well as within the music industry, she has served in ministry and mentored middle schoolers, high schoolers, college students, and young adults over the past 17 years. For the past decade, she has been a leader with Tabernacle Co., an area ministry focused mainly on young adults, where she also helped to write the curriculum for their discipleship program. Catherine wants to create an empathetic space for her clients where they feel safe and cared for and are able to experience growth and healing. She is happy to provide integration of faith and spirituality if it aligns with a client’s desires. While Catherine’s theoretical orientation is from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, Catherine views each client as unique and may also incorporate Narrative Therapy. Regardless of type of therapy, Catherine strives to make sure that her approach is tailored to each individual. Catherine’s areas of interest include, but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, shame, sexual abuse, women’s issues, and life transitions. In her free time Catherine enjoys spending time with her husband, her two kids, her family, and her friends. She loves to get outside, read, and is a musician, playing guitar and piano as often as she can.
