Where truth is honored, healing begins. Welcome. I’m Dr. Chanel Dismuke. I came to this work because I believe healing begins when people are met with honesty, respect, and cultural awareness. My clinical experience includes outpatient and residential care, program leadership, and teaching a Cultural Foundations course at Pacific University focused on enhancing cultural competency. I blend trauma‑informed, strengths‑based care with evidence‑based methods so we can co‑create a treatment plan that fits your life and values. I believe that, while you cannot always control the world around you, you have a choice in how you respond to it. Therapy with me is collaborative: we clarify what matters to you, set practical goals, and balance emotional processing with skill work you can use every day. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy, and I integrate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other modalities when helpful. My work is trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and culturally attentive - designed to help you build sustainable change that lasts beyond our sessions. I am mindful that individual struggles often sit inside larger systems. By honoring personal experience while recognizing social context, we craft goals and interventions that are realistic, culturally responsive, and aimed at improving your quality of life in meaningful, lasting ways.
