Introduction

Charissa earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work and has spent her career serving individuals and families in a wide variety of clinical settings. Her professional experience includes outpatient mental health, inpatient behavioral health, community mental health, residential treatment, correctional settings, crisis intervention, and private practice. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the many factors that influence emotional well-being and recovery. Charissa takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. She incorporates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, and play-based interventions when appropriate. Her approach emphasizes creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and foster meaningful, lasting change. Charissa believes that healing happens through connection, understanding, and hope. Her goal is to create a welcoming therapeutic space where clients feel respected, supported, and empowered to overcome challenges, build on their strengths, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.
