Hello, I’m Charly, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate at New Vision Counseling and Consulting. I'm passionate about helping individuals, couples, military members, first responders, and families find healing, clarity, and lasting change. My journey into counseling began after 22 years of service in the United States Air Force, where I experienced firsthand the challenges of stress, trauma, relationship strain, and major life transitions. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in mental health and dedicate my work to helping others navigate difficult seasons with support, practical tools, and hope. I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, ADHD, OCD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I have extensive experience supporting military members, veterans, first responders, and their families, and I understand the unique demands these careers place on mental health, relationships, and daily functioning. One of my areas of specialty is Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT®), an innovative therapeutic approach that uses specific wavelengths of light and color to help regulate emotional distress, reduce trauma symptoms, improve emotional processing, and promote lasting healing. Many clients find ETT to be a powerful tool for addressing anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional overwhelm, and stress when traditional talk therapy alone has not provided the relief they were seeking. I work with clients seeking non-medication approaches for ADHD and OCD. Through evidence-based interventions, emotional regulation strategies, behavioral techniques, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, ETT helps clients improve focus, reduce intrusive thoughts, strengthen executive functioning skills, and build healthier coping patterns. While medication can be beneficial for some individuals, many clients are interested in exploring effective therapeutic strategies that support symptom management and long-term growth with or without medication. I am also trained in Restoration Therapy, a powerful model that helps individuals and couples identify unhealthy coping patterns, understand the roots of emotional reactivity, and develop healthier ways of responding to themselves and others. Restoration Therapy is particularly effective for couples struggling with communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust issues, and relational wounds. By helping clients move from reactive "pain cycles" into healthier "peace cycles," this approach promotes deeper connection, emotional maturity, and lasting relationship change. For couples, I provide a supportive environment where both partners can feel heard, understood, and respected. Using relationship-focused approaches, including Gottman-informed and Restoration Therapy interventions, I help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, resolve conflict, and deepen emotional connection. My counseling style is warm, accepting, and collaborative. I believe every client has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. Together, we create a personalized treatment plan that addresses your specific goals while building resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, relationship difficulties, or a major life transition, you don't have to face it alone. My goal is to help you gain practical tools, emotional freedom, and a renewed sense of direction so you can move forward with confidence. Taking the first step toward counseling takes courage. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you create meaningful and lasting change in your life. Your healing journey starts here.
