Chauntell Geary is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals discover their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. While she enjoys working with clients of all ages, her greatest passion is supporting children and teenagers as they navigate the emotional, social, and behavioral challenges that accompany growing up. She also provides therapy for adults, tailoring treatment to each person's unique experiences, goals, and stage of life. Chauntell believes that healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and supported. She strives to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients can openly explore life's challenges while developing practical tools to improve emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, and build confidence. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, with an emphasis on helping clients make progress at a pace that feels right for them. Chauntell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Before entering the counseling profession, she spent five years working as a sign language interpreter, an experience that strengthened her appreciation for communication, advocacy, and meeting people where they are. She later earned her Master's Degree in School Counseling from Wayne State College and has spent more than a decade serving students and families as a school counselor. Throughout her career, Chauntell has worked closely with children and adolescents facing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, life transitions, peer relationships, family stress, self-esteem challenges, and school-related difficulties. Her years in both rural and school-based settings have given her a deep understanding of the unique needs of families and communities, allowing her to provide practical, compassionate support that extends beyond the therapy office. As part of the Elevate Minds Psychiatry team, Chauntell is committed to helping every client feel empowered to move forward with hope, confidence, and the skills needed to thrive. She believes that therapy should be individualized, strengths-based, and focused on helping each person achieve meaningful progress in the areas that matter most to them. Outside of work, Chauntell enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and embracing the balance and perspective that nature provides. She is the proud mother of three children and values creating meaningful connections both personally and professionally. Chauntell provides telehealth therapy throughout Iowa and in-person counseling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, offering flexible options to help make quality mental health care more accessible for individuals and families.
