I see you. You’re the one who appears confident and capable on the outside, but inside, you’re exhausted from holding everything together. You’re used to being the strong one—the person everyone depends on—but lately anxiety, stress, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or simply carrying too much has left you wondering when you get to exhale. I’m Cherese Carter, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in helping high-achieving women move from simply functioning to genuinely flourishing. Together, we’ll identify the patterns keeping you overwhelmed, strengthen boundaries, develop practical coping tools, and help you create a life that feels more peaceful, balanced, and sustainable. I also work with teens navigating anxiety, academic pressure, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, peer relationships, and life transitions. My previous experience as a school counselor gives me a unique understanding of the pressures adolescents face both inside and outside of school. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, incorporating evidence-based clinical tools including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. For clients who desire it, Christian faith can also be thoughtfully integrated into our work. Therapy doesn’t have to be another place where you feel pressure to perform or have everything figured out. It can be a place to finally put some things down, understand yourself more deeply, and learn a healthier way forward.
