Hello, I'm Chris. I have been a licensed Clinical Social Worker for nearly fourteen years. When people have asked whether I do 'talk therapy,' I'll say sure. But by 'talk,' I mean to say a different kind of talk. What does that mean exactly? It means a focused conversation that helps individuals and couples find validation, expand their self-awareness, and develop practical skills. It means considering learning through exercises and role-play and books and other materials. Most therapists at one time or another have been told they're good listeners, and I'm no different. Clients have described my approach as "informative," saying "You listen well and speak well," and that I know when to simply "provide space." While my professional perspective is informed by a broad range of fields—including linguistics, philosophy, and history—my formal training is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment-Based Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, and trauma-informed care into my practice.
