Introduction

My name is Chrissy Follis, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving Orange County and beyond for over 20 years. Working from a holistic perspective, my approach to therapy is supportive, active and practical utilizing modalities that include, but are not limited to, attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems, Family systems, and energetic psychology. With individuals, I help with depression and/or anxiety that is often exacerbated by existing relationships or has developed out of a difficult relationship. I also work with women dealing with postpartum issues, adjustment to motherhood, and parenting stressors. I also work with individuals healing from trauma such as sexual abuse, grief, cancer diagnosis, divorce recovery, etc. With couples and families, my expertise includes helping address problems with communication, emotional and physical intimacy and conflict management. I also work with couples that wish to deepen and strengthen their relationship. Another area I focus on is working with couples that are engaged or in a serious relationship through pre-marital counseling. Other issues I have helped couples with include: affair recovery, overcoming depression or anxiety and its effects on the relationship, infertility, and blended family issues. In addition to being certified as a Level IV Healing For the Body Level Up (HBLU) practitioner, I worked for several years as an adjunct professor for the undergraduate Psychology Department at Azusa Pacific University. I also lead workshops, is a Mom Co (formerly MOPS) speaker, and lead group therapy sessions. For those seeking therapy from a Christian perspective, I have the training, education, and experience with integrating Christian based values with biblically sound psychological principles.
