Introduction

Hi, I am Christeen and welcome to my Practice! I offer culturally responsive, trauma-informed telehealth therapy for individuals who are ready to reconnect with themselves, feel more grounded in the present moment, and experience joy again; sometimes, for the first time in a long while. Therapy with me is nonjudgmental and focused on creating a safe, affirming space where we can slow things down together, listen to what your body and nervous system are communicating, and gently explore what healing looks like for you. My approach is collaborative and rooted in mutual exploration. You are the expert of your lived experience, and my role is to walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect. Much of my work uses bottom-up processing, meaning we pay close attention to physical sensations, emotions, and nervous system responses rather than staying only in thoughts or stories. Through this body-based work, clients often begin to re-establish a sense of ownership over their body and mind, feel safer within themselves, and develop a deeper connection to the present moment. ⸻ My Approach: My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive, anti-racist framework, with a deep commitment to holding space for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) clients. I understand that trauma does not happen in a vacuum. It is shaped by systems, identity, culture, and history. Healing, therefore, must be relational, contextual, and compassionate. I also provide therapy in Arabic for clients who feel most supported expressing themselves in their native language. Together, we may work through: • Generational and childhood trauma • Workplace stress and burnout • Major life transitions • Identity exploration • Immigration and acculturation trauma • Vicarious trauma and emotional overwhelm ⸻ Why I Do This Work: I identify as a curious brown immigrant woman who is continually learning, healing, and becoming. I emigrated from Egypt to the U.S. at age 11 and grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina — navigating identity, racism, and belonging in the American South during and after September 11th. These experiences deeply inform my understanding of immigration trauma, collective trauma, and the reality that we are not meant to heal in isolation. My values have always been simple: people deserve to heal, to feel connected, to experience joy, and to live their best lives. These values led me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work and has guided my purpose and 15 years of work across public health, social services, mental health, and advocacy. ⸻ Beyond the Therapy Room: When I’m not working with clients, I’m designing healing spaces through my other venture, zenterrainteriors.com, cooking meals inspired by places I love, spending time with my husband and our puppy, Quito, playing with my nieces and nephews, and traveling to learn about other cultures and food.
