Welcome! I’m Christina Staiger, a Licensed Associate Counselor practicing at Peace of Mind Counseling and Consulting in Freehold, NJ. My mission is to provide you with a comforting, supportive, and real space where you can show up exactly as you are. I have received a specialization in couples and relationship counseling, helping partners navigate conflict and rebuild connection. Additionally, I work with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, family issues, trauma, and the stress of life transitions. My practice is rooted in evidence-based, collaborative care. Drawing from several modalities including: psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, attachment, person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed care, I tailor every session to your specific goals. We will work as a team, moving at a pace that feels entirely right for you. You don’t need to have a perfect roadmap or even know the exact words to describe what you’re experiencing before we meet. It is entirely okay to show up with a messy, tangled knot of feelings and no clear destination in mind—untangling that together is exactly what we are here for. My goal is to meet you with genuine warmth and absolute honesty, creating a space where you can take off the pressure of having it all figured out. While I am here to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment, I will also gently help you look at the habits and mindsets that might be keeping you stuck. You are the ultimate author of your own story, and my privilege is simply to walk by your side as you build your confidence and find your footing. When we first begin, our time together is dedicated to understanding the landscape of your life. We will look at your history, your current challenges, and the vision you have for your well-being, moving at a speed that feels entirely secure and comfortable for you. Building trust is our first priority. As we find our rhythm, we will begin shaping your specific goals. I don't believe in a rigid script, so we will actively customize our sessions to match what resonates with you. This might mean untangling complex thought patterns, practicing new emotional regulation and coping skills, processing meaningful past events, or simply bringing your natural, existing strengths to the surface so you can use them more effectively.
