When I began my career over twenty years ago, I worked closely with children and families within the education and juvenile probation systems. While this work was meaningful, I often felt something was missing. After taking time for personal reflection and exploration, I was drawn to Bastyr University, a holistic healthcare university in the Pacific Northwest. Bastyr’s philosophy resonated deeply with me: that every person deserves compassionate, client-centered care that integrates both science-based and natural approaches to healing. I went on to earn a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science and am now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor, Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider, Certified Trauma Professional, and Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist. I am also recognized as a WA Child Mental Health Specialist and have served as an approved Clinical Supervisor for interns and unlicensed clinicians pursuing licensure in Washington State since 2009. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in both small nonprofit mental health agencies and large community health systems, serving diverse populations—including those who are often marginalized. I draw from a variety of person-centered, trauma-informed approaches that honor each client’s inherent strengths and support meaningful, lasting growth.
