Introduction

Claiborne believes healing begins within safe, authentic relationships where people feel seen, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. She especially loves working with children, adolescents, and families, and feels deeply honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate difficult experiences, emotional challenges, and seasons of growth and change. Her approach to therapy is rooted in attachment, connection, and developmentally appropriate care. She earned her M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College and has clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, and caregivers navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, family transitions, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and relational challenges. Much of her work has focused on helping children and teens express emotions, experiences, and needs that may feel difficult to put into words. Claiborne utilizes a warm, relational, and child-centered approach to therapy, drawing from Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), attachment-based approaches, trauma-informed care, expressive interventions, CBT, DBT-informed skills, and mindfulness-based practices. She believes children naturally communicate through play, creativity, and connection, and she strives to create a space where clients feel emotionally safe, empowered, and genuinely cared for. She also values collaboration with parents and caregivers and believes healing often happens most meaningfully when children feel supported both inside and outside the therapy room. She aims to help clients build self-understanding, resilience, confidence, and deeper connection within themselves and their relationships. Outside of the therapy room, Claiborne enjoys audiobooks, creative projects, art museums/art history, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Bella.
