Introduction

Hola! I am Clara Herrera, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have a bachelor's degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine and a masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton. I provided community based mental health services to children, adolescences, young adults and their families in Orange County for seven years.  I am passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and adjusting to life changes. As a therapist trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I help individuals explore and process past experiences that continue to affect their well-being today. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that supports healing from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges by targeting the root causes. As a certified provider of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), I specialize in helping parents manage their child’s behavioral and emotional challenges—such as aggression, defiance, non-compliance, and frequent temper tantrums. Through PCIT, you’ll learn proven skills to strengthen your relationship with your child and improve their behavior. I offer live coaching sessions where I observe interactions between you and your child in real time. During these sessions, I provide immediate feedback and support, empowering you to practice and apply new strategies effectively. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel truly seen and heard. Together, we will work to understand your story—not just where you've been, but where you want to go. I believe that while you’re doing your best with the tools you have, you also have the strength and capacity to grow, heal, and thrive. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change, I’m here to guide you toward the life you deserve.
